What is 'Number Engine'?

Number Engine is a cutting-edge, new add-on developer to Google Workspace. We're here to provide you the optimization tool you need to pair with your worksheets.
Our solution is called 'Optimization Solver'. It's an add-on 'solver' tool for Google Sheets that solves both linear and nonlinear models. Our proprietary solution methods navigate the unique challenges of spreadsheets on the web and allow you to use native spreadsheet functions and build / solve models exactly the way you'd expect!

Other available spreadsheet solvers attempt to solve your models by sending the data to an external solution service and returning the output. Number Engine cuts out that middle-man, and the solution algorithm is executed internally within the app's own script! This greatly improves computation speed and data security.
Commitment to Data Privacy
Number Engine pledges a commitment to practicing high standards of data privacy [see our Privacy Policy]. We pledge a commitment to never sell your data to any entity. While one of the default scopes in all add-ons (see below) mentions that we may see personal information about you, we do not personally store any of this aside from your email address.

Solve your models the way that you want with customizable nonlinear solution settings like convergence (tolerance) criteria, number of iterations, step size, and more!
New Methods
Number Engine brings users 2 new solution methods:
GLOP (Google's in-house developed solution algorithm. This method supports only linear problems)
Solutions using this method are designed to be Global Solutions for the model
COBYLA ('Constrained Optimization by Linear Approximation', a nonlinear solution method developed by Dr. Michael J.D. Powell in 1994)
Solutions using this method are designed to be Local Solutions for the model
Scalable & Powerful Framework
Number Engine's calculations are completed by Google's own servers, allowing you to leverage high computational power regardless of your own device's hardware!
Pricing
Number Engine was originally intended to be a free app with advertisements, but unfortunately, add-ons in the Workspace Marketplace are not allowed to show ads. Therefore, there was no way to continuously support Number Engine and its development without an affordable price.
A free 7-day trial is available automatically for each user, which begins after the first launch of the app. After that, we offer 2 payment options managed with Stripe; A monthly subscription as well as a yearly subscription option with a cheaper monthly equivalent rate. Both options are made available to meet the needs of different customers and are priced as low as possible to provide fair access to all.
